Airfreight rates are showing an upward trend due to the very limited capacity.
In terms of LCL and FCL sea freight services prices are currently maintained, but are expected to increase due to the planned "blank sailings", ie sailings that have been canceled by a carrier or shipping line due to reduced demand.
With respect to road freight services, prices are currently extremely volatile, with changes mainly due to the following factors:
- Lack of sufficient transport capacity as many of the trucks are blocked at the borders and others are not moving at all, due to the lack of drivers who refuse to travel.
- Great dynamics and uncertainty about what's next. New measures are taken on a daily basis, new laws and regulations are being voted on, and all this leads to market uncertainty, which has its direct influence on the market mechanisms for demand and supply of a particular service.
- Closing of many businesses and factories, which has a direct impact on the volume of freight moved on a daily basis. All of this has a direct effect on rates and leads to great fluctuation.
